As of Saturday, September 20th, all my HCC and UH classes will meet their next scheduled turn.
This next week will be a total assessment of where we all stand, so everyone just relax. Patience both ways will go a long way.

UH Returns today; HCC . . . who knows?
UH Monday/Wednesday: Returns today, though it may be little more than a headcount.
UH Saturday: Will meet.
HCC Monday/Wednesday: Will resume Monday at the earliest.
HCC Central Tuesday/Thursday: Will be determined this afternoon.
All syllabi and due dates are null and void until your particular class meets face-to-face.

Ike update: Sunday, September 14th
As of Sunday afternoon, September 14th, this is where my English/Humanities classes stand (I teach a number of classes on a number of campuses spread out over two colleges, so please make sure I am writing about you):
My students at Houston Community College: It has just been announced that all HCC campus sites will be closed both Monday and Tuesday. No class on those days. We will meet Wednesday at the earliest, only after the appropriate individuals make assessments as to damage and safety and clear us to occupy the buildings.
My Monday-Wednesday students at the University of Houston: The Central campus will be closed Monday. We will therefore meet Wednesday at the earliest--but again, please watch this space.
My Saturday students at the University of Houston: I am under the assumption that we will meet next Saturday--but you don't have that luxury. Please come back.
Now, file this under it-goes-without-saying: Everyone dismiss English (and college in general) until we reconvene. It is impossible for me to state what will become of due dates and the syllabus, because I have no clear picture as to when we'll meet again. A thorough re-vision of the syllabus will be in order.

To my Saturday UH students: the University has been closed for the weekend due to Hurricane Ike; we will meet next Saturday, September 20th.
To my Monday/Wednesday UH students: In view of the hurricane, your assignment due Monday, September 15th is now due Wednesday, September 17th.
